“My father was Squadron Leader Kenneth William Brown RCAF. He was a highly decorated war hero celebrated in Canada for his legendary flight on May 16, 1943, known as The Dambuster Raid. He asked men to risk their lives for a merciless cause; and they did. He carried the burden of war and I believe suffered through PTSD through much of his life.
He taught me leadership and instilled a sense of honor, pride, and duty into me that links back to the air force. My father always stood up for what he believed was the truth and he demonstrated how important integrity was. Although his values differed from mine, he always represented his values.
Next to teaching my children to be independent as the foundation of interdependence, the next greatest gift I can give them is to pass on being a person of integrity – as my father tried to teach me.”
